I don’t think you will find any long bows under 40 dollars that are still in working order. You could find a couple of compound bows though. Just go to ebay and type in compound bows and then make it so $4o dollars is the max price, you will find a lot of old bear whitetails and hoyt gamesters.

you wont get much for 40 bucks. if you want a good powerful bow i reccommend a compound bow which will likely cost you a couple of hundred dollars unless you buy one second hand.

Sorry. You’re out of luck. You might find a piece of junk compound for that at a garage sale.

Respectfully, at $40, your selection is very limited, and you’ll likely find a lot of kid’s bows in that price range, very few bows powerful enough to take anything larger than a rabbit.
My suggestion is to either A) Save up some money and get a bow that you’ll enjoy shooting, with good arrows and points (broadheads or field points, whatever your preference), or B) Figure out how you can barter/trade for a good bow.

you can make your own longbow for nothing. cut down a tree and go to work. make it as powerful as you like. i would recommend buying a string vs making one.

At $40, you might as well tie a string to both ends of a sapling and use that…

maybe you could hit up ebay… but then again… you don’t know what you’re getting.

For that kind of money, invest in a drawknife, stanley shurform, a couple c-clamps and a nice piece of Maple, Hickory, or Ash… and make your own.

for 40$ you can buy a 35lb longbow. thats about the best power you can get for that for 40$. With a 35 lb bow you could hunt varmints mostly ( racoons, groundhogs, squirrels, rabbits) and a 35 lb bow is the legal minimum for most states to hunt deer with.so if you get good with it you could possibly hunt deer.

Maybe the plastic bows with the suction cup arrows you can find in the toy section. Sorry man, but for $40 bucks its impossible. Even longbows are a lot more than that. I’m not sure what to tell you, but if that’s your budget, then I’m afraid you are probably out of luck.

I think it will be hard to find a decent bow for $40, unless you get lucky and find a good cheap used one.

there is no longbow or compound bow under $40 to my understanding but there are recurves in that price range but not very good ones you looking to about $200 (£150) for a longbow or compound. just look on ebay
