Does the string on an archery bow have a name?

I am wondering if the string on an archery bow has a name… so can somebody please answer this question ASAP

    the string that connects the limbs is the bow string (both for recurve and compound bows) the additional strings on a compound bow are referred to as cables

    Isn’t it simply called a string? Or Bow-string?

    "bowstring". I suppose there could be a more "modern" term, such as "arrow / archer interface fiber"…

    Or, you could do as I did. I named my bowstring" Max". ;-)

    (The Anishinaabe, or "Ojibwe", word is "achaab")
