Where can I find an affordable handmade recurve bow?

Just getting into archery, mostly target for now, but interested in hunting. Also like quality and workmanship of handmade recurves. Looking for an affordable handmade recurve or takedown recurve. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Handmade, good handmade bow, can be had for as little as $600. It’ll take a while to get to you however. A friend of mine just sent his bow in to be refinished and he was going to buy a new pair of limbs, it was about 5 months before he got the bow back.
I seriously doubt there really is such a thing as "…an affordable handmade recurve…" bow. Anyone who actually specializes in crafting such a thing by hand and of any respectable quality simply cannot afford to make and sell such a rarity at prices the average person would consider "affordable". I think you might be better off to just go looking for a standard offering from one of the reputable bow makers that have been making these bows for years. There are always used ones to be found out and about if we just go looking for them. Check with the archery shop in the nearest large city closest to where you reside. They should be able to help you find a good second hand bow. Good luck.
Ebay has lots to choose from.*

Go to your local hunting or archery store they should have recurves which are around 100 dollars but if there isn’t i suggest the mathews brand compound bow the are by far the best quality bow around now a days. They are fast flying and highly accurate.
